From the only outdoor messy play for young children in the area, to advice and support for parents, our fully trained families team at GL11 have a range of activities for children and families throughout the week.

    Yoga for Mums

    Meet other mums, and take some time for yourself to recharge and explore your motherhood journey.

    Wednesdays from 22 January to 5 March 2025 (no session 19 February), 1-2:30pm.

    Our next BOBS - Bank Of Baby Stuff is on Wednesday 7 May, 10:00am - 12:00pm.

    Join the recycling revolution! Donate, swap or take away what you need. Everything is FREE! Just drop in (please bring a bag if you can).

    BOBS coincides with our Cost of Living Day, offering a whole range of free advice and support as well as £1 meals in our cafe all day. For more information on our Cost of Living Day click here.

    Donation guidelines

    Your donations of the following things will be made available to families of all backgrounds, living locally:

    • Baby clothes - all sizes

    • Baby/cot bedding

    • Toddler clothes, shoes, coats, winter wear

    Please note that due to lack of space, we CANNOT accept these bulky items: cots, prams, pushchairs, highchairs, moses baskets, car seats or large toys, e.g. play kitchens, garages etc. We are also not currently accepting maternity clothes. Thank you.

    We accept donations at GL11 during normal opening hours.

    Two sessions each day: 10am - 12pm and 1pm-3pm.

    Creative, messy, screen-free time for 6-11 year olds after school.

    Peep Learning Together

    Make the most of learning opportunities for your baby in everyday life and explore play together in this free course. Suitable for babies (non-walkers).

    HENRY Right from the Start

    Help your child have the best possible start in life! Join our free eight-week HENRY Right from the Start programme for parents.

    Thursdays from 6 March to 15 May (term time only).

    10am - 12pm.

    Free, with free creche for 0 - 4 year olds.

    This course takes place at Family Action Treetops Children and Family Centre, School Road, Dursley, GL11 4NZ.

    Are you struggling with your child’s behaviour or emotions? Are you concerned that your child isn’t settling in well at school? Do you need help to navigate the system? Would you like a safe space to share your experience with other parents/carers?

    Mondays.

    1:00pm - 2:30pm.

    Free (with free creche for 0 - 8 year olds).

    NeuroThrive Parent/Carer Peer Support

    Are you a parent/carer of a neurodiverse young person? Are you looking for support and connection with others on a similar journey? Join Julie and Tracy for a free monthly peer support group to share experiences of autism, ADHD and other neurodiversity challenges with professional advice and guidance.

    Dates for 2024/25: 8 October, 5 November, 3 December, 7 January, 11 February, 4 March, 1 April, 6 May.

    This friendly drop in group for 0 - 4 year olds is held in Sharpness Village Hall every Wednesday.

    Includes a snack, a drink, and a monthly Health Visitor session.

    Free Creche Sessions at GL11

    We currently have free creche sessions at GL11 on Monday (1pm to 2.45pm) and Wednesday (12.30pm to 2.30pm) afternoons, for 0-4 years.

    If you are a parent with baby or toddler, needing our Wednesday expert advice on your finances, housing concerns, etc. Or just need to visit our Community Pantry to do a low-cost weekly shop. Why not take advantage of our free creche to get the support you need while children are safely at play with our fully trained families team, Kath, Kim and Lindsay.

    On Mondays, you can find out more about all of GL11’s activities, and just take some time out for yourself in our Cafe with a hot drink and some cake.

    We also occasionally run one-off creche sessions to help parents participate in activities at GL11. Check out our Activities & Courses section for any specific details.

    There is a limit to creche numbers on any one day, so best to ring GL11 first on 01453 548530 just to double check on availability.

    Drop in to our Family Fridays at GL11 to join other families with children aged 0 - 4 for playful activities and a delicious, freshly cooked lunch.

    Includes a monthly Health Visitor session and our Community Pantry is also open 10am - 12noon every week.

    9:30am - 12 noon.

    £3.50 per session.

    No booking required, just drop in.

    Join a fun-filled Stay and Play session at GL11 Community Hub. A perfect opportunity for dads and their little ones (0-5 years) to connect, play, and make new friends.
