You’ll find something different happening every day at GL11 Community Hub, from one-off courses to weekly groups. For more information about any of these activities, please give us a call!

    DiversiTea - GL11's Neurodiverse Cafe at Dursley Methodists

    Join us for GL11's pop-up cafe in Dursley Methodist Church, 10am - 2pm, every fortnight.

    Accessible, affordable and inclusive. Everyone is welcome.

    Run by GL11 Explorers group as a friendly, safe place to meet for song, laughter and fun, with tea, cake, and activities!

    DiversiTea & Cake usually runs first & third Monday each month.

    Specific Monday dates to the end of July 2024 are:

    April 15th & 29th, May 20th, June 3rd & 17th, July 1st and 15th.

    Communitea Cafe at Sharpness Village Hall

    Bringing people from Sharpness together for delicious cake on the second Monday of every month. Everyone welcome.

    10:30am - 12:30pm.

    Specific dates for 2024 are:

    13th May, 10th June, 8th July, 12th August, 9th September, 14th October, 11th November and 9th December.

    Monday Macramé

    It’s so easy to get started with macramé! Learn the basic knots and then combine them to create a beautiful piece over the course of six weeks, with expert help and tuition.

    Mondays from 6 January to 10 February, 1 - 2:30pm.

    £4 per session, with a free crèche (for 0 - 4 year olds).

    Creative Writing

    Build confidence, find community, write your story. This free six week course for every skill level will be led by Emma Kernahan from Dialect, an organisation dedicated to nurturing rural writers and offering them an opportunity to share their work.

    Mindfulness and Meditation

    Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, but there are tools that can help. In our six week Meditation and Mindfulness course you'll learn mindfulness exercises and breathing techniques, and gradually be able to practice longer periods of sitting in stillness.

    Mondays from 20 January to 3 March (no session 17 February), 6:30-7:30pm.

    Yoga for Mums

    Meet other mums, and take some time for yourself to recharge and explore your motherhood journey.

    Wednesdays from 22 January to 5 March (no session 19 February), 1-2:30pm.

    £25 for six sessions (free creche for ages 0-4).

    Community Buddies

    Grow in confidence, meet new people in the area and get out and about with GL11 Community Buddies. Buddying is a one-to-one friendship between a volunteer and a person who might want a friend. This can be a chat over a cup of tea, a weekly phone call, a walk in the park or whatever else suits you both. We carefully match individuals based on area and mutual interests to create genuine, long-lasting friendships.

    Exercise classes for over 60s

    GL11 Community Hub is now offering affordable and enjoyable exercise classes for adults aged 60+ in the GL11 area. Together we'll take part in strength, balance and flexibility exercises before having some social time with tea and coffee.

    £2 per session (please contact us if cost is a barrier).

    Tuesdays 2 - 4pm (starts 22 October) at The Chantry Centre, Long Street, Dursley, GL11 4JB (accessible by public transport, free long stay car park available on Long Street).

    Thursdays 1 -3pm (starts 24 October) at Stinchcombe Village Hall, The Street, Stinchcombe, GL11 6AP (accessible by public transport, free parking available onsite).

    GL11 Community Cafe

    Our Community Cafe is open for home cooked food Monday to Friday. Sharon and her team of volunteers serve up hot drinks, cakes and lunches.

    As part of our weekly Warm Wednesdays, the cafe serves £1 hot food all day between 10am and 4.30pm.

    On Thursdays, pre-booking is required for our £5 two course community lunch for the over 55’s. Call us on 01453 548530 to book yourself a space at our community lunch table.
