Chief Executive of GL11 Community Hub to step down
The Board of Trustees of GL11 Community Hub has announced that the Chief Executive, Indigo Redfern MBE, will be leaving the organisation in Spring 2025.
Indigo, who was awarded an MBE by His Majesty the King in the 2023 New Year Honours list for services to the community in Gloucestershire, has been Chief Executive since 2014. During her time at GL11 she has overseen significant change, including the long-term response to COVID-19 and a move to greater partnership working with organisations including the NHS. The charity has also worked alongside thousands of people in the local community facing poor health and the impact of the ongoing cost of living crunch through services such as counselling, money advice, and employment support.
Reflecting on her tenure, Indigo said:
“My time at GL11 has been such a privilege, I have really enjoyed guiding GL11’s development and growth over the last 11 years, and working with such committed and talented trustees, staff, volunteers and partners.
GL11 is well positioned for its next phase of development, so I feel it is a good time for me to step aside and for a fresh CEO to take on the next chapter.”
Doina Cornell, Chair of Trustees, said:
“As you can imagine I am sad that Indigo is going to be moving on, but also so very grateful for all that she has done for GL11 as an organisation, and for our community in these last years. GL11 has been transformed under her leadership and there will be many, many people in Cam and Dursley and beyond whose lives have been transformed for the better by the work she has done.
GL11 Trustees will work together with staff, volunteers and our local community to recruit an exceptional leader as new CEO, to continue building a strong positive future.”
Indigo will be relocating to Suffolk and is looking forward to supporting the charity sector there. The Board of Trustees will work closely with Indigo and GL11 staff to ensure a smooth transition period whilst a new Chief Executive is appointed.
